Our Story
The Ravens Theatre company grew from a sense of play. A local group of actors, (and a director), who were driven by a desire to work creatively together. We began to meet to explore poetry and classic text and realised that we needed more. We experienced poignant moments of truth, beauty and goodness that we felt compelled to share with an audience.
The Ravens Theatre Company was founded with a passion for bringing classic plays to life for regional audiences, particularly the youth of our community. Based in vibrant, creative Castlemaine, we believe in the enduring power of great stories told through live performance. In times like these, where uncertainty and global crises surround us, where the line between fact and fiction is increasingly difficult to discern, The Ravens want to tell stories to hold up a mirror to humanity. Our productions aim to be accessible, engaging, and thought-provoking - honouring the text while finding fresh relevance for today's audiences.
